Calcudex
A downloadable game
This is a small puzzle game about doing various arithmetic operations. Made in 72 hours.
If there are bugs or errors, please let me know in the comments! Thank you for giving this a try!
How to play:
To progress you must calculate or place on the board the number that is being requested at the top of the screen. To do this you can click and drag over cards from your deck on the left of the game board. The game is made up of operators (+, -, /, *) and operands (numbers). You may perform operations by right clicking an operator if it has two operands on its left and right or top and bottom. You can toggle between these modes (see controls below). NOTE: This game uses INTEGER DIVISION for simplicity. :)
Controls:
- LEFT CLICK to drag cells around.
- RIGHT CLICK to perform operation on a operator.
- TAB toggles between Left-Right and Top-Bottom operand targeting.
- F to toggle full screen.
- ESC to exit.
- SPACE to restart if game has been lost.
Q/A:
How do I get more cards?
Placing or calculating the number requested gives you a certain amount of cards. However, one card is provided for every operation that is performed (just to keep the game moving!).
What are the lose conditions?
Running out of operations to perform (i.e., no operations on the board) or filling up your board can lose the game. Additionally, running out of cards without any more moves may end the game too.
Help! I am stuck and the game won't end!
I probably missed an edge case for lose conditions. Please let me know in the comments! Thanks a ton!
The reward amount is getting ridiculous.
